Played at the White Swan Hotel, Halifax,

on the evening of Wednesday, 16/03/1870,

over 7 boards, 3 games per board (time permitting).

 

The report in the Bradford Observer of Friday, 18/03/1870, stated that Bradford won twelve games, that Halifax won five games, that two games were drawn, and that two games were left unfinished.  That’s 13-6, with 2 unfinished.  The results were given as in the following table (except as noted, and without the board numbers):
